Provide Real-Time Intercepts : Government Tells Blackberry
The application by Black Berry for interrupting its messenger services to fallow the Government’s security concerns seems to have hit a rough patch meanwhile the agencies insisting that information given should be on a real time basis.
The smart phone maker has offered to provide information on a delay basis after the threat of shutdown of core features by 31 august.
Research In Motion (RIM) along with the DoT had submitted a proposal to intercepting the Black Berry Messenger services.
According to this proposal, a mobile number needed for monitoring would have to be handed over to the RIM, which would in turn provide the information within ten days. Security agencies insisted on real time information rather than a deferred one in the interest of national security.
The officials of RIM have informed the government that they will give a more precise solution next week which will help the Indian security agencies monitor the services.
